Student Pilot Activities and European Cooperation
Work Package 5 turns the educational resources and teaching methods developed in WP4(opens in new tab) into practical learning experiences for vocational students.
During the two-year pilot, teachers from six European countries use, test and adapt EUCLASS activities in their schools. Students explore European institutions, citizenship, rights, shared values and opportunities through debates, simulations, creative projects, international exchanges and collaborative learning.
The aim is to make Europe relevant to students’ daily lives, vocational pathways and future careers.
How WP5 works
WP5 combines activities carried out within each school with opportunities for students and teachers to cooperate across borders.
Local activities
Teachers introduce EUCLASS resources into their classrooms and organise school events focused on Europe.
Transnational activities
Students and teachers meet, travel, exchange experiences and work together with partner schools from other European countries.

Classroom activities
Teachers use the resources and methodologies developed during the EUCLASS Summer Schools (opens in new tab)to design activities around specific European topics. Rather than relying only on traditional lessons, the pilot encourages students to learn through participation. Activities include debates, role plays, simulations, quizzes, visual projects and collaborative challenges.
Topics explored include:
- European identity and shared values;
- EU institutions and decision-making;
- democracy and active citizenship;
- citizens’ rights and responsibilities;
- mobility, education and employment opportunities;
- the EU’s impact on everyday and professional life.

Eurodays
Eurodays are school events dedicated to Europe, European citizenship and democratic participation. Whenever possible, they are organised in connection with Erasmus Days or Europe Day.
The events bring together students, teachers, guest speakers and EU experts through workshops, discussions, exhibitions, simulations and creative activities.
Eurodays give students the opportunity to:
- meet people with direct experience of European initiatives;
- discuss current European issues;
- present their work to the school community;
- learn about EU opportunities;
- express their views and ask questions;
- connect with students in other countries.
Transnational activities
Educational visit to Brussels
The EUCLASS study visit(opens in new tab) bring students and teachers to Brussels for a direct encounter with European history, institutions and democratic life.Through visits, workshops and structured learning activities, students explore how European cooperation developed and how EU decisions affect citizens today.
Online collaborative activities
EUCLASS connects students from partner schools through synchronous and asynchronous online activities.
Students meet peers from other European countries, exchange ideas and discuss European citizenship from different national and cultural perspectives. These activities also help participants practise communication, teamwork and foreign-language skills.
Teacher Assignments Abroad
The six participating VET providers are organised into three twin-school partnerships.
Each school sends and hosts a teacher. During the assignment, visiting teachers lead workshops and EU-related activities for students at the host institution.
